I think that quote sums up my personal as well as my professional life. I have lived in New Jersey for 24 years and have been a chiropractor for 23 of those years.
I graduated from Life University in 1992, practiced for many years and settled in Clark, NJ at Healing Hands Chiropractic. My journey has been always centered on helping people, teaching, and directing as many families as possible toward optimal health through chiropractic care.
I get to travel this journey with two fantastic boys — Ryan, 21 and Marcello, 15. Besides the joy I get to experience every day through chiropractic care, they are the light in my life.
My journey into the chiropractic world wasn't your typical approach. I grew up in Stamford, CT. I went to college to study physical therapy when I started having stomach problems. The problems I was having were interfering with my daily routine and I needed help.
After numerous tests, the medical community’s answer was to give me drugs and tell me to deal with it. At the same time, my sister was working for a chiropractor and suggested that I come in and talk to him about what was troubling me.

The chiropractor explained to me how the nervous system controlled every function in the body and how I had a subluxation present in the area where the nerve went to your stomach. It all made sense and I remember thinking at that moment, this is fascinating and I want to learn more about it!
I began undergoing chiropractic care and shortly after that, my body started to function better and I no longer had stomach issues. I was hooked and as you can probably figure out, I left physical therapy school and entered chiropractic school. My story may not be very different from many of yours but I can definitely say chiropractic care saved my life. It gave me a quality of life that I wanted to have.
My two boys are chiropractic kids, being adjusted at just a few hours old. They are drug-free; they get adjusted regularly and understand how their body works and the importance of having a nervous system free of interference.
I have a family practice that spreads the word of chiropractic care to every walk of life. I think my greatest joy is taking care of kids and their families. Children come to see a chiropractor because the birth process is traumatic; they have asthma, ear infections, colic, bed wetting, falls from learning to walk, and riding a bike among other things.
Many patients present with spinal distress that, if corrected as a child, will not become bigger problems as adults. It's nice to know I am adjusting them and making them understand that our body has the potential to heal anything, fix anything, and function on a much higher level. The power that made the body can heal the body and chiropractic adjustment restores balance to the body and nervous system.
